Born and raised in Los Angeles he moved to Seattle in 1989 to be closer to the outdoors. Exploring the wilds of Alaska and Canada, he became passionate about the environment and how it has been affected by man made climate change.
A self taught artist, Spencer's work is collected regionally and has been shown internationally winning top awards. He was the artist in residence at Artsfund, one of the leading art organizations in the Northwest. His work has been seen by millions on national news features that include CBS This Morning, Washington Post, CNN International, Fox News, etc. as well as numerous on line media.
9-23 Spencers global message and unique style has recently attracted much attention including: Winning The Chelsea International Fine Art Competition and showing in NY, being featured in June on the Times Square billboard, having over 20 national shows in 2022, winning 1st, 2nd, 4th place in the 2023 American Art Awards, featured in the 2023 International Artists in Embassies event, included in the upcoming US Government’s Climate 5th Assessment Report and much more.
